Lembranças
Às vezes paro, e me pego a recordar
Um grande amigo, me falou vou te mostrar
Fui ficando quase louco
Me chamou pra conversar
O mundo gira, e faz o tempo passar
Muitas lembranças, ele pode apagar
Mas do mestre, eu pra sempre vou lembrar
Porque ele fez, minha vida melhorar
Que Deus proteja, quem me ensinou a jogar
Esta tal de capoeira
Eu te juro a vida inteira
Que pra sempre vou jogar
Leleleo, lelelea
Do Mestre Tena, eu pra sempre vou lembrar, olele
(coro) Leleleo, lelelea
Foi Mestre Tena, que me ensinou a jogar, olele
(coro) Leleleo, lelelea
Sometimes I stop, and I find myself remembering.
I was still a boy, but I will always remember.
A good friend of mine told me, "I'll show you."
The capoeira fight, which I started training.
I confess that my interest was minimal.
But when I got there
I was going almost crazy.
I saw it, I couldn't believe it.
In that speed, I saw the leg pass by.
On the other side, I saw a boy playing...
There was a guy named Lelu...
I've never seen anything like it.
From north to south
In each one, a relevant spring
She had a sway in her body.
It was really different...
There at the door, I was admiring
When a man suddenly
He called me to talk.
He told me that this is capoeira.
What is Brazilian culture?
If you want, I can teach you...
I didn't hesitate, not even for a moment, to accept.
I still play it today, I can't stop anymore.
I don't regret it and I know it was worth it.
I am very grateful.
To my great Master Tena
The world keeps turning, and time keeps passing.
Many memories, he can erase them.
But I will always remember the master.
Because he made my life better.
May God protect whoever taught me how to play.
This thing called capoeira
I swear to you my whole life.
That I will play forever.
Leleleo, lelelea
I will always remember Master Tena, olele
(chorus) Leleleo, lelelea
It was Master Tena who taught me how to play, olele
(chorus) Leleleo, lelelea
